I'm a big fan of Pinterest.

I'm on Pinterest a lot.

I have an obsessive compulsive mind that rarely rests so Pinterest feeds that need if you will.

Well, this morning I had the nicest surprise, a sweet comment regarding one of my Pinterest Boards.

I titled the board "Life Lessons" and it's filled with inspirational lil' what-nots to make one stop and ponder the thought for a moment or two.  And possibly inspire one to change for the better.  You know, why not? *shrug*

Well anyway, a fellow Pinterest follower commented this:

"My Thanks to you for sharing uplifting items the world need more of us trying to help each other in small ways we can make a difference in someone life."

Little does she know how much she made my day.

So, with that being said, I thought I'd share a little inspiration with you all.

Are you ready?

Yay!  Here we go...

Always remember this.

True that one too.

Good to know.

Isn't that the truth?

Love that. *smile*

That's right.  Fuhgettaboutit. *giggle*

This is a good one for the upcoming presidential election, yes?

Oh, this one is so good.  Love it. *smile*

Gives one a new perspective doesn't it?

And last but not least...

This is just a smattering of what is on my Pinterest's Life Lessons Board.

If you'd like to see more you can just click on one of the photos above and it'll take you over there.

And if you wish, you can  Follow Me on Pinterest  too. *smile*

Oh, and speaking of followers.

I want to send a special "thank you" to those of you that follow my humble lil' blog here.

Recently I kinda cleaned up my sidebar over there and I moved all your bright & shiny faces that were on my Google Followers Widget to my "Fav' Peeps" page.

So now when someone clicks on that cute lil' baby chick up there they'll not only see the precious faces of those that are my followers but also links to those that I follow.

Fav' peeps all in one house.

Pretty nifty, yes?

Thank you for coming by today.

It warms my heart you know.

Until next time.

Here's what's on the table Mabel.

A primitive dancing Easter Bunny Garland.

Just got a coat of paint.

Waiting now to be sanded.

Then painted again.

Then stained.

I need a nap. *sigh*

Lil' Gracie the Mouse is waiting to be finally secured to her tuffet without the assistance of pins in her hips.

I went out to our strawberry beds and plucked a few strawberry leaves for reference.

I'm picturing Gracie the Mouse amidst a bed of strawberries.

This all sounds like I know what I'm doing.

I haven't a clue as to where I'm going with this.

And here you all thought I did.

Silly peeps.

Petunia the Pig is coming off the Market this weekend for a make-over.

She's gonna get a spool for a nose much like the pig you see on my Ebay Button up there.
[pointing to the top right of my blog]

I've decided I need to rework that pattern if I'm gonna use walnut shells for snouts.

Petunia the Pig loves to play in her lil' hand basket.

I tell her people go places in hand baskets.

I'm also thinking of a mohair bunny like this lil' fella'.

Only on a much smaller scale.

This is the view out my Sewing Room window today.

I gaze out this window a lot.

And contemplate the meaning of life.

And dream.

Of perfecting the Feather Stitch.

And what to fix for Supper.

As you can see, 'tis the most beautiful Spring day here today.

Sunshine, cool breeze and big puffy clouds that could suddenly cause one to wax poetic about cotton candy.

But I won't.

"Out with the cold, in with the woo."
-E. Marshall

Have a fabulous weekend.

My goodness, where does the time go too?

Does anyone know?

If you do, please share, 'kay?

Thank you.

Since the weather has been quite fickle.  You know, days with temps in the 80's to the next day being chilly with temps not even making it out of the 50's.

That ol' Mother Nature is a tad bit menopausal isn't she? *giggle*

Anyway, I've been busy cleaning out flower beds and such with these nice days we've been having.  And in the evenings I try to get in a lil' sewing time too.

The other evening I was rummaging thru a cupboard in my sewing room when I happened to look up on top of it and saw three tiny vintage Easter boxes stacked atop one another.

I remember the exact words I muttered, "oh my goodness, how could I have forgotten?!"...

I had made these last Easter and sadly not a one sold.

In all actuality (is that a word?), it really isn't so sad 'cause then they just get to stay here with me.

Kinda like him...

Early Doll...
...and her too.

So I've decided with Easter upon us once again, I would relist them.

There's three of these delightful little peeps, each with their own vintage Easter box they call home.

Lil' Peep & Tiny Vintage Easter Box...

And they can be found, here.

Spring has sprung, the grass has ris’,
I wonder where the birdie is?
There he is up in the sky,
He dropped some whitewash in my eye!
I‘m alright, I won't cry,
I'm just glad that cows can't fly!

Happy Spring my friends!

[singing] "Here comes Clarice with her little tail"

[singing] "Hopping down the bunny trail"

[singing] "Hippity-hoppity Clarice is on her waaay"

[ahem]  Sorry 'bout that folks.

I tend to get a lil' carried away at times.

Sweet, diminutive Clarice the Bunny has gone to Market over at Ebay, here.

[singing] "Bringin' every girl and boy"
[still singing] "Baskets full of love and joy"
[yet still singing] "Things to make your day all bright and gay"

(note: lyrics changed slightly by nutjob blog owner, aka. Me)

Have a splendid day my friends.

Here's what's on the table Mabel...

..."I love you thiiiiiiiiis much!"  *smile*

This diminutive, lovable, primitive, mohair hunnum-bunnums is awaiting her final details.

Such as, a tail.

And possibly some sort of Easter greeting, I haven't decided.

She isn't shy and likes to be in the thick of things which is leading me away from her being an Easter Bunny and more of a stay-out-all-the-time-where-she-can-be-seen type of bunny.

And by the way, her name is, "Clarice".

The other evening as I was looking thru my jars of spools of vintage thread, I found myself "oohing & ahhing" over all of the luscious colors.  Before I knew it I had compiled a little collection of my personal fav's off to the side of my work table.

I kid you not when I say that these colors make me drool.

Some are silk thread which make me swoon.

I know, I know, the craziest things crank my tractor.  What can I say.

So as I was taking photos of the furry, fuzzy sweetness that is on my work table right now, I thought I'd share this with you before I put 'em away.

Love ya's,

[singing] "I see skies of blue"...

[singing] "Grass turning green"...

[singing] "Trees budding leaves"...

[singing] "And daffodils too"...

[singing] "And I think to myself"...

[singing] "What a wonderful world".

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom, for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

I see skies of blue, and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces, of people going by
I see friends shaking hands, sayin', "How do you do?"
They're really sayin', "I love you"

I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more, than I'll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Oh yeah

First and most importantly, I want to say, "thank you", to those of you that left the sweetest comments on yesterday's post regarding my sharing with you my birthday and a little about my less-than-charmed life.

Your words touched my heart in a way that is almost indescribable.  Your birthday wishes and the sharing of your own stories brought me to tears.  Tears of joy and happiness that is.  That is something I will never, ever forget.

My cup overfloweth due to having the best commenters/friends one could ever hope to have.  And for that, I am eternally grateful.

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Now secondly, I thought I'd share with you on this fine Monday morn' a little of what I'm lovin' on Pinterest.

You wanna see, yes?

Well, buckle up sweet buttercups 'cause here we go...

Hauntingly beautiful, were the first words that came to mind when I first saw this photo...

Now how did this get in here?!  Well, [ahem], this is Me in the bathtub this morning.

Seriously now, it's a Japanese Snow Monkey settling into a hot spring bath at Jigokudani, Nagano, Japan.

Now that I think about it, still not much difference...

Never forget...

That's what I can't go a day without thinking about...

A lil' Roasted Cauliflower & Aged White Cheddar Soup to warmz zee cocklez, yez?

And last but not least.

My wish for you...

Love ya's,

March 9, 2012

Inspiration for the following that you are about to see was brought about one fine Autumn day last year when I was tilling our garden under for its impending long Winter's rest.  Walking along holding onto Big Bertha, our garden tiller, glancing off every so often into the woods because walking along with the methodical pull and churn of the tiller can cause one to drift off into a dream-like state until said garden tiller hits a rock and flips you into next week.

Anyway, I happened to look down and there along the garden's edge was half of a walnut shell with its wondrous inner carved interior staring up at me.  I immediately took a mental note and kept walking to keep up with Bertha but remembered the spot I saw the walnut shell.  For some odd reason I knew I was gonna use this little walnut shell for some creative good.  So on my next turn around I looked again and this time I reached out and picked up the walnut shell and put it in my pocket for safe keeping.

Later that evening I took the walnut shell out of my pocket and gave it a good cleansing under water.  I held the walnut shell half up to my husband and asked him, "what do you see?" and he replied, "a walnut shell half" and that is when I knew for sure that I was holding a future pig snout in my hands.  Yes my friends, a pig snout.  And that is how the following was brought into fruition.

So, without further adieu... [drumroll please]

"Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!" "Oink!"

Petunia the Pig, a Gloucestershire Old Spot Heritage Pig has officially, and I say officially gone to Market.

I meant, gone to my Etsy Shop. *giggle*

Oh, and yes, my husband has officially committed me to being one full sandwich shy of a picnic. *giggle*shrug*

Have a lovely weekend!

March 6, 2012

Forgive me as I have been sick.  Yet again. *sigh*

I'm not quite sure what is causing it but I'm almost certain it is my illness making its ugly presence known.  Yet again.

I'm vertical today and that's always a good sign. *smile*

I did a photo shoot with Miss Petunia the other day and sadly haven't been able to edit her photos so that is on my agenda for today.

She's been upstairs waiting ever so patiently upon my Sewing Table for her online debut.  Every so often I hear a sweet, yet nasally voice say, "Mama?", "Mama, are you there?", followed by an "Oink!"...

I have a very active imagination as you can tell.  If I ever really do "hear" voices coming from a cloth pig then one of ya's are gonna have to take swift action, 'kay? *giggle*shrug*

And as you all know one of my fav' things in Life is when sunlight plays.

Some time ago I happened upon this as I was climbing the stairs to my Sewing Room and had to take a photo.

I'm sharing it with you.

“These things I warmly wish for you.
Someone to love, some work to do, a bit o' sun, a bit o' cheer,
and a guardian angel always near”
-Irish Blessing

March 2, 2012

I will be painting trim today.

I know, I know, try and contain the excitement here people. *giggle*

My husband has gone off for a little "man-cation".  Him and about a dozen or so of his friends will be at a friend's farm this weekend making deer jerky and sausage.

There'll be drinking involved.

And meat grinders. *shudders*

They call it, "The Annual Jerky Off".

I like to ruffle their feathers and call it, "The Annual Jerk Off".  *giggle*snort*

And of course, there'll be the plenty o' flatulence, scratching and spitting along with a myriad of other lovely attributes of the male species.  *eye roll*

In other news, "Petunia the Pig" will be making her Market debut this weekend.

She's waiting to be fitted for her sash and then her photo shoot which I'll be doing later today.

Sadly, this past Wednesday we buried a dear Cousin of mine.

She lost her battle with Cancer.

I was a Flower Girl in their wedding back in 1967.  I still have the bracelet she gave me as a gift for being in their wedding.

She was fun, loved to talk and laugh out loud.

The hardest part of this all is seeing my elderly Aunt mourn the loss of her first born.

No one should ever have to bury a child, no matter what the age.

I think a discussion with God regarding that very issue is in order.

I wonder if he Skypes.

On a much, much, much lighter note I am gonna leave you my dear friends with this...
